The Point-In-Time Homeless Street and Shelter Count is an effort to learn more about the individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Maricopa County and the entire country.  In order to accomplish local and federal goals toward ending homelessness, we first need to know who is experiencing homelessness, where they are, and better understand the factors surrounding their homelessness.

Volunteers are needed on Tuesday, January 24th from 5:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. to survey individuals experiencing homelessness in Mesa, so they can be provided with programs and services that will best fit their needs.  No prior experience with the Homeless Count is needed!

Volunteer training sessions will be offered prior to the Count at the following locations:

On Tuesday, January 24th we will host an orientation at 5:00 a.m. at Fire Station 201, 360 E 1st St, Mesa, AZ 85201.  Then, volunteers will be sent out to their project location by 5:30 a.m. to begin the Homeless Count.  Volunteers will be divided into groups of 3 to 4 people for each project location.  Volunteers must be able to provide their own transportation to assigned area.
